Hurricane Milton’s exact path remains undefined, and models indicate that it will make landfall further south in Florida, south of Sarasota.

This puts areas such as Ft. Myers and Naples at risk, but does not diminish the danger it represents for areas such as Tampa, so it is important to follow government recommendations.

The storm will continue to advance tonight, moving away from the coasts of Mexico.

This afternoon, Hurricane Milton has intensified its power and has returned to Category 5 status.

This major hurricane has intensified its winds, according to the National Hurricane Center, expanding its range of possible impact area.

The outer bands generated by Hurricane Milton continue to cause clouds and rain in various regions of Mexico, while it continues its path towards Florida.
In a few hours, the winds and gusts will be felt on the west coast of Florida.

This afternoon, a private plane in Tampa was trying to evacuate but suffered an accident. 4 people and a dog were rescued.

President Biden has urged coastal residents to evacuate as soon as possible.

US President Joe Biden has postponed a trip to Germany and Angola scheduled for these days due to Hurricane Milton.
The White House reported that the president will remain in the United States to monitor the arrival of the hurricane in Florida.
This was said by press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Speaking of the hurricane, this morning, Tuesday, October 8, it has been downgraded to Category 4, but its path continues towards Tampa, Florida, where thousands are evacuating their homes to get to safety.

The weather forecast indicates that it could regain strength and rise again to Category 5 in the next few hours as it travels through the Gulf of Mexico.

Weather models indicate that it will be on Wednesday when it makes landfall very close to Tampa, in category 3. Some models predict that the point will be between Cedar Key and Naples.

Tampa Bay has not been directly hit by a major hurricane since 1921.

CONAGUA, the Mexican agency in charge of monitoring these high-impact events, shows Milton moving away from the Yucatan Peninsula this morning, leaving some rain in Merida and Progreso and strong winds in Cancun.
