Judge in Brazil unblocks X after payment of fines
It’s been several weeks since a confrontation began between a controversial Brazilian judge and Elon Musk, all due to Judge Alexandre de Moraes blocking the social media site X, formerly Twitter, in that country.
After a quarantine forced by the judge, X will be active again in Brazil.
X has complied with the legal requirements imposed by the Brazilian justice system, and its immediate unblocking has been ordered. Among these requirements is the payment of 5.2 million dollars as a fine.
Musk finally appointed Rachel Villa Nova as X’s legal representative before the Brazilian law, replacing the previous representative, who was harassed and forced to resign by the same justice system.
Everything indicates that X agreed to block accounts that are not welcome to the current government, under the accusation of being accounts that spread false information and incite hate crimes.
During this conflict, Elon Musk himself went so far as to call the judge a dictator, among other epithets.
